Dalmanuta has taken its name from the Bible, Mark 8:10. It opened in October 2006 after three years of constructions.
The 10.000 square meter property was originally densely grown and mostly a swamp. The beautiful garden with its unique herbal garden and its ample wildlife was constructed with help from one of Sri Lanka’s better known garden architect, Doland de Silva, and more than 500 truckloads of soil, compost, plants and thousands of hours of work.
Dalmanuta is situated in the peaceful residential area of Warapitiya just outside the small town of Dargha, about three km from the main town of Aluthgama on Galle road. Since Dalmanuta is sponsoring the local preschool, the volleyball team and the temple’s Sunday school, it’s a well known name in the area and as a guest you’ll have the opportunity to be invited to many private events such as weddings, birthdays, “Pirims” and “Big Girl parties”.

Dalmanuta’s nine separate suites are all bright, airy and spacious.
All suites have a sleeping area, a lounge and a veranda facing a private garden where you can relax in a sunbed or a special Sri Lankan "Hansiputto - chair” and let the outdoor fan keep you cool.
All rooms have a spacious bathroom with high pressure, non-chlorine water from our own well and an extra WC. The room is kept at a perfect temperature by the AC and the fan, and if you would like to experience the feeling of tropical night you can do so under the big mosquito net.
Every suite is equipped with a satellite TV offering a wide selection of interesting channels. There are also 400 DVD films to choose from in the reception.
Dalmanuta has a good mobil phone coverage and there is wireless Internet in the reception. The IDD phone connects you to the world and to room service. If you would like to make your own coffee or tea there is a kettle in the room and also a fridge and a mini-bar.
