Amor Villa is a homely holiday retreat set amidst a coconut grove and edged by the sunkissed beaches of Dalewalla, on the fringe of Unawatuna. A heritage bungalow and a newly-built wing of the villa offers clean and comfortable accommodation at a reasonable price. The historic town of Galle is just 10 minutes away. The journey from Colombo’s international airport will take about four hours.
Introduction
The main bungalow at Amor Villa, once owned by a village headman, is more than 150 years old and has been well preserved by the Sri Lankan owner, retaining its original architecture. Verandahs, windows and doors with ornate timber carvings, wooden floors and an old staircase still remain. The interiors are simple with some antiques and a mix of colours. The new wing is closer to the beach. Essentially, Amor Villa provides a peaceful and spacious holiday setting with excellent Sri Lankan hospitality. It can be booked per room or in its entirety and is rented on a bed and breakfast basis.
