Kandy is situated right in the center of the country & it is of a hilly terrain; rising to 5650 feet above sea level. It has a mild climate with an average temperature of about 25 degrees centigrade. Rain comes over this region in the months of May, June, July, November & December. Yet along with the rains you could expect a lot of sunshine as the days pass by.
Kandy area is surrounded by thick forest and opens up to the mountain ranges encompassing more than 200 sq.kms of walks, hikes and climbs. This makes for good hiking and camping grounds. Other areas of interest would be climbs to Adam’s Peak; Bible Rock; visit mini world’s end (Meemure off Hunnasgiriya Mountain); Knuckles’ Range etc. All this could be organized with due notice.
